Natalia

Natalia began her work with Verchovyna in 1975 when she took on the role as Artistic Director. Her interest in researching and designing traditional costumes to compliment her choreography began at this time. Natalia was Artistic Director for 20 years, then took on the role of Administrator. She now heads our Costume Design Team. During her time as Artistic Director she organised concerts and tours regionally and nationally and assisted in the organisation of Verchovyna's first overseas tour. Natalia is a member of the board of MAV (Multicultural Arts Victoria). Between 1996-2001 she organised four major exhibitions focused on Ukrainian art and culture: Steppes Across Ukraine (VicHealth Access Gallery, National Gallery of Victoria), Ukrainian Echoes (VicHealth Access Gallery, National Gallery of Victoria), A Place in the Sun (VicHealth Access Gallery, Immigration Museum), 50th Anniversary of the Ukrainian Catholic Church - the life of Ukrainian Catholics in Australia over 50 years (St Patrick's Cathedral, Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, Ukrainian Museum). She is MAV's longest serving Board member and current Deputy Chairperson. Natalia is also Verchovyna's longest serving volunteer. She is currently working on another overseas tour for Verchovyna as Tour Manager.

Props Co-ordinator
Danusia Fedyszyn

DanusiaDanusia Fedyszyn has recently completed her studies in Diploma of Arts Interior Decoration & Design and has taken on the role of being Verchovyna's Props Co-ordinator. As an active member since 1998, Danusia has had the experience of trying different and exciting projects. Now with her background in design and also arts & craft she is embracing up and coming projects with a new enthusiasm.

 

Sound and Music Technicians
Stephen Pyk

StephanStephen has been part of Verchovyna for over 17 years, and is a current dancer of our Senior Ensemble. Over the past few years he has taken the role of music co-director and sound editor for the Ensemble. Stephen has a strong background in music studies. A graduate of the Faculty of Music, University of Melbourne, he is an experienced pianist and singer. Stephen has performed regularly with various Melbourne-based ensembles, such as Melbourne City Opera and Melbourne Chorale, and holds a variety of accompanied positions with local choirs, chamber players and vocalists.

 

Dr. Andrew Soloczynskyj

ASoloAndrew was a member of the Verchovyna Band from 1981 onwards, which performed at the Concert Hall/ Arts Centre/ Moomba and many venues locally and nationally.  He has formal training on Flute (Grade 4 AMC - stopped further studies due to Medicine) and a good knowledge of multiple instruments including woodwind, percussion, brass and strings. Andrew currently arranges music via Computer Aided Sound Programming for Verchovyna, and is also the sound technician for Verchovyna's live performances.
