Costumes

Verchovyna has a dedicated design team which devote many hours researching, designing and looking for materials, paying particular attention to the authenticity of the costumes. Since the Ensemble's inception numerous costumes from many different regions of Ukraine (for various age groups) have been designed and sewn by parents and friends of the Ensemble contributing many hours over many years.

As all fabrics are purchased in Australia, finding the appropriate fabric is a challenge. The fabric needs to look authentic as well as flow to complement the choreography. Particular attention has been given to embroidery and headpieces.

Verchovyna's costume team is constantly challenged designing and dressing over 120 dancers of all ages. We are currently working on new designs for the Ensemble's performance at the end of 2007 and the up and coming overseas tour for the Senior Ensemble Jan/Feb 2008.
